4 Theme Night Ideas to Spice up your Quarantine

Updated: Jul 31, 2020

We’ve entered into the quarantine haze where days, weeks and now months(!) have started to blend together. Without the consistency of a commute or stimulating, non-zoom social interactions, the last few weeks have felt a bit like Groundhog Day.

Grace is quarantined with her entire family in the house she grew up in. In an attempt to break this monotonous cycle, this quarantine-crew has implemented twice-weekly theme nights, and we're all about it! From cocktails to music to food (and sometimes outfits), they are all in.

Variety is the spice of life, are we right or are we right? So make a crazy cocktail, turn up the music, put on some lipstick or throw on a tie, why the hell not? But most importantly, have some fun with it.

We've put together a list of their greatest hits so far, and some tunes and cocktails to go along with it. We'll leave the food and outfits to you.

1950's Night

Cocktail Hour:

There's nothing as old-school as the classic Whiskey Sour. We've added a modern twist with our Citrus Sweet Tea (English Breakfast Tea, Lemon and Lime).

For a lighter option, our Hibiscus Rum Punch is a fresh alternative to the classic 50's cocktails, no frozen OJ concentrate needed!

Music: Elvis (non-holiday), Andy Williams, and more classic crooners to set the mood. Twist those hips to these tunes!

Tiki Night

Cocktail Hour:

A quintessential beach drink with a spicy twist, *the* Chai Pina Colada is the perfect way to transport to a warmer place... with a kick of rum!

Another perfect warm-weather drink is the Watermelon Palmer. Refreshing white-tea, watermelon & pomegranate with gin, topped with chunks of watermelon and fragrant mint makes the ideal summertime drink.

Music:

The perfect combination of reggae, yacht-rock, beachy-hits. Close your eyes and transport yourself to the sandy dance floor of your tiki-bar dreams.  Bob Marley? Jimmy Buffet? All will do.

Soprano's Night

Cocktail Hour: Lighten up the traditional Aperol spritz with our Strawberry Manhattan mixer (Darjeeling Tea, Strawberry and Hibiscus). The Hibiscus Spritz is the perfect cocktail hour sipper with a tart twist.

Looking for something a bit stronger? Try the Citrus Gimlet for a boozy punch!

Music:

Turn your speakers all the way up, and let Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin serenade the night away, with these classic mobster hits.

Steakhouse

Cocktail Hour: What's better than a Manhattan in a steakhouse (probably followed by some Red Wine)?

We're shaking up our Rye Manhattan (and it goes without saying, but we're also making steaks and mashed potatoes).

Music: A solid all-purpose dinner party mix. A little bit of old, new, and everything in between. You'll please everyone.

Please tag us @theowlsbrew if you include us in your theme. We'd LOVE to see!
